Minolta Digital SLR Camera - Discontinued?
After reading the title you're probably wondering how can this be real right? Well it happened, although it happened recently, the Konica Minolta digital SLR camera series have been discontinued as of the beginning of the year of 2006 which was 2 years ago. The reason Konica Minolta left the digital SLR market is simply because they couldn't compete with other manufacturers. Although the products have been discontinued, there's still a strong demand for Konica Minolta digital SLR cameras and that's because the digital SLR cameras were as good as the ones from the manufacturer. It's just because digital SLR cameras were not Konica Minolta's main focus at the company unlike it's competitors. Although it was short, there are basically 3 models of Minolta digital SLR camera. Before Konica Minolta discontinued their product line they offered the Dynax 7D, Maxxum 7D and the Maxxum 5D which are very great digital SLR cameras to use. First of all all these 3 models come with the latest technology so that means they offered high quality pictures with over 6 Megapixels pictures. Also they have some of the finest features such as their Maxxum Lenses, anti-shake technology and magnesium-alloy body. What makes a Minolta digital SLR camera so unique is the fact that their lens is specifically designed to maximize clarity and sharpness. All 3 models come with the same lens that was engineered to fully take advantage of the optical technologies. These lenses were made lighter and more compact than the average lens so that they can provide excellent contrast compared to the lens the competition offered. Minolta was also the first manufacturer to use multi-coating on their lenses which is today used by almost every digital SLR cameras in order to reduce flaring and ghosting. Another characteristic that distinguishes a Minolta digital SLR camera from its competitors is its robustness. Minolta offered one of the most durable digital SLR cameras on the market. With a high durability magnesium-alloy body, you can rest assured your camera will not break easily. Although only the front part has a strong body, you still have high quality material through out the camera to keep it durable and reliable. Last but not least, the most interesting aspect of a Minolta digital SLR camera is the anti-shake technology. Still available on all Minolta cameras, this technology allows the photographer to take the clearest of picture possible. Let's face it, no matter how good a photographer is, he's still human and clicking that shutter will cause the camera to move unless he has a tripod. With the anti-shake, the photographer is ensuring that without a tripod he can still take a high quality picture. This becomes very convenient since carrying a tripod can be a huge load. As you can see, although discontinued, a Minolta digital SLR camera can easily be found online because of their reliability, durability and high quality features. Being the first digital SLR company to offer lenses that offered sharper and clearer pictures, there would be no way for them to go bankrupt. Well they didn't go bankrupt, maybe they just lost interest in this particular field. Whatever the reason, the last cameras to be offered by this new company are still available on the market and still compete very well with some of the more popular brands simply because of their magnificent features. Don't take my word for it though, ask the professional photographers who still use it after the products were discontinued. |
